Cover Letter for Engineering Jobs
Now-a-days, candidates are asked to get recommendation from their previous employees. The employer has to make sure that they provide correct feedback about their ex-employees. The employer has to go through the employee details file, before drafting the reference letter. If you find that the employee was asked to resign for unethical behavior or was unable to achieve their targets, then you can send a negative recommendation letter. This letter informs the future employer about the negative features of a candidate, whom they are considering for any job profile.

Mr. William J. Daniels,
HR Head,
AGS Engineering,

Lynchburg, VA 24504.
Dear Mr. Daniels,
This is to inform you that Ryan Wilkins was working with CGL Systems from September 7, 2003 to February 13, 2004 as a junior programmer. He was recruited into our organization through the campus recruitment drive. During his term at our company, he was unable to complete the projects assigned to him on time.
As an entry-level candidate, he has undergone rigorous training program for entry-level junior programmer. He worked under the guidance of his supervisors, yet was unable to complete the work assigned to him. Most of the code programmed by him contained mistakes and the senior programmers had to rework on the entire code. Even after frequent warnings and on the job training, there was no improvement observed in his performance. Most of the entry-level candidates who are initial unable to work under dead line, coped up with work within few months, but there was no improvement observed in Ryan's performance at work.
I would not recommend Ryan Wilkins for any job in the Information Technology industry as he does not have the potential to work under strict deadline and does not take efforts to get his concepts clear. Thank you for taking time out from your busy schedule to go through this letter.
Sincerely,
[Signature]
Benjamin L. Helms,
Project Manager,
CGL Systems.

Mr. Leonard T. Watson,
HR Manager,
Ohio Research Lab,
3666 Ripple Street,
Williamsburg, OH 45176.
Dear Mr. Watson,
I would like to notify you that Alexander Cox was an employee of ITS Chemicals from January 24, 2011 to July 15, 2011. He worked with us senior chemical engineer. During his employment with us, he did not prove to be an ideal employee. The safety hazards caused due to his negligence were unacceptable. Hence, he was asked to resign from work.
Alexander was appointed for the senior chemical engineer post considering his work experience in the Chemical Industry. He was responsible for planning the chemical plant, keeping track of the plants progress, and maintaining the safety norms at the plant. Even after strict instructions, Alexander did not keep complete track of the safety issues. During the complete technical audit of the project, it was found that the plant lagged installation of basic safety management techniques. Leniency on the safety norms in a chemical company may cause hazards in future. Hence, Alexander was asked to leave his job as his mistakes would have cause major hazard.
I would not recommend Alexander Cox for any job in the Chemical Industry where hindering safety norms would lead to loss of live and damage to property. I hope that you consider my request and do not recruit him. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
[Signature]
Eugene V. Reeves,
Team Leader,
ITS Chemicals
